Medicaid Update - EVV Meeting for Participants

Waiver Header

Date: July 22nd, 2020

The Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) is reminding waiver participants about an opportunity to learn more about electronic visit verification or EVV. Beginning no later than January 1, 2021, your direct service providers and/or Participant Directed Services (PDS) employees must use EVV to confirm they delivered some of the services you are supposed to receive. A list of services required to be documented using EVV is available on the DMS EVV website.

The next EVV Waiver Participant Webinar is scheduled for Monday, July 27, 2020, from 1 – 3 p.m. Eastern via Zoom. You can join the meeting online or by calling (929) 436-2866 and using meeting ID 912 3385 7081.

DMS held the first EVV Waiver Participant Webinar on July 10, 2020. A recording of the webinar and the webinar presentation is available on the DMS EVV website. The July 27 meeting will cover the same material as the July 10 meeting. DMS wanted to offer waiver participants and their families/caregivers multiple opportunities to learn more about EVV and have their questions answered. It is important to note that because this session is geared toward participants, the presentation will not include detailed information about claims, billing, or provider access to EVV. These topics will be covered more in-depth through the EVV Town Halls, which are listed on the DMS EVV website.

EVV Town Hall #1 was held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. The town hall provided an overview of EVV for all stakeholders. A recording of the meeting and the webinar presentation is now available on the DMS EVV website.

If you have questions, please send a message to the Medicaid Public Comment email box or the 1915(c) Waiver Help Desk by email or by calling (844) 784-5614.

Thank you.
