The Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) is releasing its official response to formal public comments submitted between October 5, 2020, and November 6, 2020, about the proposed renewal of the Model II waiver (MIIW). MIIW is a 1915(c) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waiver that provides services to individuals who require the use of a ventilator 12 or more hours a day. DMS is now in the process of submitting the MIIW application to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for approval. 

Official DMS Response to MIIW Public Comment

Between October 5, 2020, and November 6, 2020, DMS also collected formal public comments on the  proposed renewal of the Home and Community Based (HCB) waiver. DMS is still in the process of reviewing those comments and will issue an official response soon. 

The official public comment period was held as part of the process for renewing the HCB and MIIW applications with CMS, however, DMS is dedicated to continuously recognizing and considering stakeholder input. Comments can be submitted in several ways:
